What is Cerebral Palsy (CP)?

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of chronic neurological disorders caused by damage or abnormal development in the brain during early growth. In CP, the connection between the brain and muscular system is disrupted: movement signals are either distorted or blocked completely.

As a result, the child faces abnormal muscle tone (spasticity or hypotonia), involuntary movements, and severe balance and coordination issues. Without continuous rehabilitation, muscles atrophy or contract pathologically, leading to skeletal deformities and complete loss of physical autonomy.

Systematic rehabilitation helps develop alternative neural pathways, reduce muscle tone, strengthen the core, and retrain the body to adopt correct movement patterns. For 8-year-old Ariana, uninterrupted treatment is the only way to preserve her progress and learn to live independently.
